646-SWEET PASSIONS

SWEET PASSIONS

Rang-o-Noor (BY SA'DI)

(Shumara: 646)

It is Allah's great favour to man if He accepts his wealth for Jihaad in the way of Allah. What does Allah need? What does Jihaad need? There is all delight and enjoyment for the Muslim whose wealth is accepted for Jihaad. He is blessed with bounties whose imagination is very captivating. Let us beseech to Allah to do favour to us by accepting our wealth for Jihaad in the way of Allah.
Witness a Scene: When the Holy Prophetﷺ persuaded the Muslims to invest their wealth in Jihaad on the eve of the Battle of Tabook, women also began to assist those who were to wage Jihaad. Hazrat Umm-e-Sannaan Aslamiah says that she saw a piece of cloth spread before the Holy Prophetﷺ at Hazrat Ayesha's house. Bracelets, bangles, rings and other items of jewellery were lying on the cloth consequently that cloth was covered with the Jewellery which the women subscribed. (Hayaat-us-Sahaabah)
Surely, women have a very important role in Islamic victories and Islamic Jihaad. History is replete with their achievements. The sky still recalls the scene. When Hazrat Umm-e-'Ammarah was fighting valiantly on the four directions of the Holy Prophetﷺ pushing the enemy back. It is said that a few pieces of cloth were presented to Hazrat Umar during his reign. One of them was very nice and precious. Someone suggested to Hazrat Umar to present that cloth to his daughter-in-law, Hazrat Safia D/O Abi Ubaid who was married to his son Hazrat Abdullah. Hazrat Umar said that he would give that cloth to a woman who is better than his daughter-in-law. She was Hazrat Umm-e-'Ammarah. He said that he had heard the Holy Prophetﷺ saying, "Wherever I turned my direction to the right or the left, I found Umm-e-'Ammarah fighting to save me."
The Deed of the Mother of the Ummah: Hazrat Ayesha says that Hazrat Zainab (Umm-ul-Mu'mineen) would spin cotton and give it to the Holy Prophet'sﷺ armies who would mend clothes with it and made other uses. (Hayaat-us-Sahaabah)
Offer thanks, O Mujaahideen! Make-merry, O Mujaahideen! that Allah has stated your dignify that Hazrat Zainab D/O Jahsh who is mentioned in the Holy Quran and whose marriage was conducted by Allah Himself would spin cotton for the Mujaahideen. The present day people may perhaps not understand it. Spinning means making thread or rope out of cotton or wool. It is a very arduous task which was formerly done with the help of a spinning wheel. Everyone cannot perceive the high stage of Mujaahideen. Whoever perceives it, deems serving them a good-luck. Umm-ul-Mu'mineen would herself spin cotton for her Mujaahid sons. Thinking this, the state of man's emotions is very wonderful. May Allah grant us also the bounty of Jihaad, make us true Mujaahid and grant us with the capacity to spend wealth on Jihad and Mujaahideen! Remaining within limits, the Muslim women can take full part in Jihaad. There is no restriction or deprival for them. They are only prohibited to go to the battlefield. They can do many other tasks of Jihaad and they must do so. Hazrat Sha'bi says that a woman gave a sword to her son on the day of battle of Uhud. He could not lift it. She tied that sword firmly with his arm with the help of leather bands. Then she took him to the Holy Prophetﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allahﷺ, this son of mine will fight from your side."
Dear Lucky Ones: Allah be praised that I have witnessed the lucky and dear slaves of Allah whose lives, bodies, property and everything was invested in Jihaad. I feel envious of such individuals. How many of them should I recall? When I recall them, my eyes are filled with tears. Once, I gave back the wealth of a young man persuading and ordering him to give it to his mother. He was setting forth for Jihaad with no idea of return. He also wanted to donate all his property to the organization. Investigating his situation, I said to him, "The brave man like you suffices us. Give this property to your mother who would perform Hajj with it and supplicate for you. The organization owes to young men like you." He yielded and went away. May Allah raise him in his ranks! I witnessed many young men who were setting forth for final campaign but were counting down how much food from the organization they ate, and how large expenses they drew. They advised others to sell such and such thing and pay the amount to the organization whereas they knew that whatever they ate was completely lawful for them. If we give morsels of gold to such saints, we cannot give their due but they deem it a great favour when they are provided simple food. Actually, they are ever anxious to pay back that favour. Actually, they consider it their success and good luck to invest all in Jihaad. Allah has removed curtains from upon their eyes. When curtains from upon the eyes are removed, men can have a glimpse of high status of Jihaad in this world. Then they are anxious to sacrifice everything for it whereas there are so many Muslims in this world whose single penny has not been spent in Jihaad. Not even a drop of their sweat has fallen for the sake of Jihaad which is Allah's obligation for which the Holy Prophetﷺ sacrificed his blood. This thing bears no importance in the lives of those Muslims rather there are the unlucky individuals who dissuade the Muslims from Jihaad forbidding them to spend on Jihaad. O Allah! protect us from this misfortune!
Two Fathers, Two Sons: Khannaas is discussed in the last Surah of the Holy Quran. Khannaas means the person who hides himself after attacking. It is a detailed topic. Today I was to write on it but the wave of holy emotions flowed me to another direction. I was to say, "Khannaas put doubts in hearts. They are jinn as well as humans. One of their doubt is about future of children. They make the Muslims comit major sins and dishonesty for this sake saying: Do this and that for your children etc. etc. Let me write an incident about it stopping the pen because brevity is better in Ramazaan. Hazrat Maqaatil bin Sulaimaan says:
Hazrat Umar bin Abd-ul-Aziz left eleven sons with eighteen Dinar as legacy. Five Dinar were spent on shouding and four were spent on buying a grave. Rest of nine Dinar were distributed among his children. On the other hand, Hishaam bin Abd-ul-Malik also left eleven sons and every of his son acquired one million Dinar (gold coins) as his legacy. This was cash amount whereas lands, palaces, gardens and maid-servants were addition to it. What happened then? By Allah! I witnessed two scenes in one day. One: Hazrat Umar bin Abdul-Aziz's son was donating one hundred horses and make all the Jihaad provisions to the Mujaahideen. Second: A son of Hishaam bin Abd-ul-Malik was begging in the bazaar.
